Shel Israel, Ambassador Extraordinaire!

One of our kind of under-the-covers announcements during our recent funding round was that Shel Israel, co-author of Naked Conversations and speaker, blogger, nice guy has come alongside b5media. For now his role is as an ambassador as we help send him around the world as part of the research for his new book on “Global Neighborhoods”.

Shel recently set off on the first leg of his round-the-world journey (he’s doing it in 2-3 week stints, I believe), to Europe. Here’s his announcement post. So far, I believe he’s only been in the UK, but he’s going to Estonia, Germany (I think), Italy and a whole host of other countries.

It’s quite exciting.

While he’s travelling, Shel will be meeting local folk to talk about local content, something we are intensely passionate about at b5. So if you see Shel coming to your area, and you’re at all interested about b5, pop in and chat with him. Interesting people are interesting to us, so if you’ve got a story to tell, Shel’ll want to hear it.

Anyways, just a huge thanks to Shel for going on the road for us, hopefully he brings back some decent European chocolate from the voyage!

I’ve just put Shel and Rick in a car off to the airport winging their way over to Ireland. They’ve had a tiring but hopefully fruitful time in Scotland. We’ve certainly enjoyed informing and entertaining them.

Actually, we are in Dublin right now having flwon up this morning from Cork, where we had an awesome day and fabulous blogger dinner. We’ve als visited Edinburgh and Glagow and are looking forward to Brussels, Berlin and Rome in addition to Estonia. It is a transformational experience we are having, meeting so many interesting people, many of them the type of passionatre bloggers that you also come across at b5media.
