My name is Shannon, age 33 years young, and mother to 4 very frogs-and-puppydog tails boys. Through my children, I have grown into the person I have become today: more patient, more compassionate, and many times, a little more frazzled and sleep deprived. I continue to grow in so many ways because of them, but still have a lot more to learn I’m sure. I’ve been married for 10 years and we reside in Northeast Pennsylvania in the Pocono Mountains.
I hold a B.A. in Psychology from Rhode Island College and worked with children most of my life until 2001 when I chose to become a stay at home mom. Not being one who is able to sit still, I decided to take my love for bath & body products to another level when I began writing “A Girl’s Gotta Spa!” so I could share my love for beauty products and my knowledge of skin care with those who share the same interests. On occasion, I like to add tidbits about fashion (mainly if it relates to Isaac Mizrahi!) from time to time (A Girl’s Gotta Spa and be fashionable!).
As a result of this blog, b5media offered me the opportunity to blog for them on Makeup Minute, as did Pierce Mattie Public Relations on their main blog, fashion, beauty,, fitness and jewelry blogs. I am also now a Publicist for Pierce Mattie. (Gotta love that!)
For me beauty and fashion are not just about a great lipstick or accessory, its about being able to connect and relate with others who share my passion. There is a great sisterhood among those entrenched in the beauty and fashion industry, and I absolutely love being a part of that.
I have a great love for beauty products and have a lip gloss collection that can beat Imelda Marcos’ shoe collection hands down. I’m obsessed with shoes however, and hope to one day own a pair from Isaac Mizrahi. I think it’s important to be stylish and in fashion, and not to soley relinquish what you want by window shopping. There is always the next best product out there just waiting to be found. I love watching trends in fashion and beauty and blog about them from my perspective.
