We have a couple of new blogs now that are just spinning up (we call them “waking up” because they’re online, just not totally ready for primetime.
One of these was recently outed by Blogebrity, a blog that tracks blogging rumors and so forth.
The blog in question is “The Screamstress“, our horror blog. Written by Rhys Alexander, a very cool “college professor” (or so she says, I’m not sure I believe her). The blog is about horror, in all its glory. It isn’t gory or scary or freaky or weird (well, actually, Rhys is kind of freaky and kind of weird - but that’s another story).
I actually quite like it, in spite of not being a huge horror fan. Rhys is just incredibly good at her writing. I particularly like the captions to her images.
Apparently Blogebrity agrees:
Personally, I am not a fan of the Hollywood Horror Revival (I prefer my movie scares to come from watching Ben Affleck try to act, not guts and gore), so I may not be the best person to judge the overall treatment of the subject matter. But from what I know of my horror-loving moviegoing brethren, the Screamstress shows great promise to become a must-read for any scary movie fan….if Hollywood doesn’t manage to kill the entire genre first.
Whether you’re a fan of the genre or not, head on over and check it out. If anyone can make you laugh at the oddities that is Horror, it’s Rhys.

I love Rhys’ writing!
Congrats to all of you!
Hey Jeremy,
I like the name! (Much better than sheknowsbest.com - LOL!)
I had quick look this morning and I can see all sorts of potential, plus some classic horror movies have cult-like followings too! Hopefully it will develop its own look and feel rather than using the standard B5 blog-template.
And with any luck, the site will include footage as well as photos.
Great idea with huge potential!
Brad.
