Hi, I’m Sasha Manuel and I write for a number of blogs here at b5media. I started blogging for fun back in November of 2004. Ten months later, I found myself maintaining three pet blogs [The Parody, Truth + Travesty and Hanging Out] and my fashion blog, Tops 2 Bottoms, that’s now with b5media.
Soon after I started writing about about love, dating and relationships in Dating Dames, alongside Gayla McCord, about anything captured in 55 words in 55 Fiction, used to, that is, and about Olympic News and other world sporting events in Light the Torch. I’ve also started writing about Asian Beauty in Beauty Bento Box.
I never meant to make something out of my blogging hobby. I just knew I liked to write and I enjoy the blogosphere immensely. I have tonnes of other interests, too. To name a few, I dabble in Photography, Graphic Design and Modeling. I’ve been in the Fashion industry since 2000, doing ramp and commercial modeling. I also worked part-time for a small fashion and lifestyle magazine before freelancing as a fashion writer, stylist and make-up artist. I also did Modeling Workshops on the side.
I’m a reluctant geek. Case in point, I’d been hesitant to WiFi in public since I have this fashionista image that didn’t really go well with a laptop. No offence meant. I just didn’t want to be labeled as a poser — even when I can actually dive in a conversation about blogging, mobile phones, and, er, computers.
Other interests include Music, Books, Films and Muscle Cars! Oh, yea — given the choice, I’d spend loads of my off-time taking photos, reading my books or writing in my journal in a café or on the beach!
Outside b5media, I’m a Marketer, Copywriter and Brand Specialist, a co-founder of The Bayanihan Blog Network, the first Philippine Blog Network, and I’m also maintaining a blog on Manila fashion, Style Manila (It always comes back to blogging, eh?). I have a B.Sc. degree in Commerce, majored in Business Administration. I specialise in Marketing Communication and Brand Management.
