Hi, my name is Sarit Catz and I’m a comedy writer with a degree from Wharton. Now that’s funny.
I began my comedy career creating, writing and producing three comedy services for ABC Radio Networks and other syndicated services. After leaving radio, I went into TV as a writer/producer with credits including Coach, Full House, Soul Man, Talk To Me, Honey, I Shrunk The Kids and others. I created two original series, Girls’ Night for UPN (when there was a UPN) and Click for Big Ticket Television (a division of Spelling Entertainment). In features, I wrote and sold options on two screenplays which are currently being marketed to studios by producers. In other words, they’ll never get made.
I’ve won three Writers’ Guild of America Awards and was named a semi-finalist in the ScriptapaloozaTV screenwriting contest. I wrote and produced an indie TV pilot called What She’s Having that killed at the NY Television Festival, teach sitcom writing at the People’s Improv Theater in NYC and at Columbia University. As a stand-up comic, I play numerous comedy clubs, I’ve won Clash of the Comics three times and was a semi-finalist in The Great Canadian Laugh-Off. Plus, I host a couple local TV shows in New Jersey including my new latenight comedy variety show, After Hours. Check out my Website
