I’ll be honest. It’s rare that I propose a blog idea that actually takes off. In the early days I seemed to be flush with good ideas. She Knows Best, Play Girlz and New Linux User were all conceived with a little help from yours truly.
Of course, each of the bloggers took my one-dimensional idea and made it their own. But, lately, almost every idea or blog launch has been one of our existing bloggers saying “hey, y’know what’d be great?”. In fact, our internal blog is a graveyard of dozens of ideas we haven’t (yet) run with, because our bloggers seem to have more time for thinking up new ideas than we have for implementing them.
Today’s launch is different though. Today, we launch Offbeat Homes. I am happy to say that this was one of the original ideas I had when we were brainstorming b5. I’d often refer to it in conversations with bloggers, but nobody seemed at all interested. Until my original call with Kevin Humphrey.
See, Kevin shared a passion for this idea. This idea of some of the oddest, most ground breaking, funniest, most innovative homes around. In fact, when we talked all those months ago, he admitted that he had a bookmark folder with dozens (if not hundreds) of these little gems.
It has taken more than 4 months, but we are finally ready to show the world what our idea looks like. Offbeat Homes is, just as I noted, a collection of some of the most eclectic, unique and downright weird homes of “yesterday, today and tomorrow”.
We hope you enjoy the fruits of our loins mind.

Excellent! Odd, but excellent! I can’t believe someone keeps track of this stuff but very, very interesting. It takes all kinds in the blogosphere.
FYI - The “Entries Feed” link at the bottom of the blog just points to the main b5media site, not the actual feed for Offbeat Homes available on the buttons at the top.
Jason - All of the blogs with the Blog Studio template have that.
Aaron - Thanks…I think. ;)
That’s confusing to me, and since the world revolves around me, I think it should be changed. Just kidding. If I see an RSS feed link on a site I would think it would be for the site itself, not for another site, even if it is the blog network RSS feed.
Exciting! I’m really looking forward to reading this blog. Truly original. Great header, too!
Wow! Brings new meaning to “Home Sweet Home”…I wish you much success.
