My Dream for b5media: Darren’s Perspective

I’m a dreamer…. So when Jeremy asked me to write my perspective on B5 Media I found it difficult to put it into words. As a result I thought I’d tell you a little about the dreams that I have for my blogging - dreams that I hope will find a place in B5. This is a living and changing list that is constantly impacted by the bloggers that I meet and the conversations that I have - I’d be interested to hear in comments below how it connects (or doesn’t connect) with others.

I dream of a blog network that:

  • Is primarily about people - both the people who write for it but also those who read.
  • Makes heroes of its bloggers
  • Provides timely, relevant, accurate and well written content on a wide array of topics
  • Is profitable and rewarding for all concerned - this includes but goes beyond finance
  • Is creative and pushes the bounds of what is ‘normal’ blogging
  • Is a true collaboration from the ground up
  • Which has a global outlook
  • Helps make it’s writers better bloggers and encourages them in their own personal projects
  • Celebrates diversity of cultures, life situation, passion and experiences
  • Is a place where people work hard at their craft and are rewarded for doing so
  • Generously gives something back to the community at large
  • Is enjoyable to be a part of

Perhaps I’m being a little idealistic, I know nothing is ever quite as rose colored as all this - but blogging has been an incredibly life giving experience on many levels for me over the past three years. I’d love to help create a space where I can share the journey and help others have a similar experience.

Darren-

This is a great post. There is nothing wrong with the idealistic dreamer. In fact, it is the dreamers that inspire positive growth and change in this world. I find that there are too many “that can’t be done” people in this world, in an unconscious attempt to clip the wings of those who would soar the skies of possibilities.

You have certainly been an inspiration to me over the past few months at ProBlogger as I have entered into my new relationship with the blogosphere. Thanks for all you do to educate and assist, your dedication and passion are a wonderful gift to us all.

I believe that people who dream always get what they want, so long as those dreams keep going.

How many big achievers are there in the world who didn’t dream about being at the top?

Your dreams are going to come true Darren. You’ve already told the Universe about them and you’re taking inspired action. The rest will come as the time is right for it to come.
