I’m Mary Emma Allen and came to b5media from AboutWeblogs. At b5, I write the Quilting and Patchwork blog, Alzheimer’s Notes, and Home Biz Notes.
I’ve written books on quilting, The Magic of Patchwork and Alzheimer’s,When We Become the Parent to Our Parents. I’ve also written magazine and newspaper columns about home businesses. My husband and I have been involved in home businesses of our own for many years.
I enjoy writing the Quilting and Patchwork blog and Alzheimer’s Notes. I’m looking forward to providing information and encouragement for home business owners and potential owners on Home Biz Notes.
I live in New Hampshire (USA) in a multi-generational household including husband, daughter, son-in-law, two grandchildren, a dog, rabbit and guinea pigs. In additional to my many writing and publishing activities, Jim and I also operate a business that takes us traveling throughout the US.
I have a degree as an elementary teacher and do quite a bit of substitute teaching (in my spare moments) in local schools. This enables me to stay in touch with what youngsters are reading so keeps me up to date for the writing programs I often present in schools. I’ve written many stories for children as well as an anthology, Tales of Discovery & Adventure, that I also illustrated, along with an accompanying coloring book. A picture book is in progress, as well as a novel for middle readers.
