A Blogger who will be trying to stay anonymous? Well - yeah :-) Why? Because I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to become a part of this wonderful b5 network in order to write at a Blog called A Dozen Steps.
Most of you will then ask, so what? Without digging into b5’s archives to find the original introduction for A Dozen Steps to see how it was introduced I’ll try a brief attempt at an explanation.
You’ll see that the Tag line for the Blog is “Here are the steps we took, which are suggested as a program of recovery.” That quote is taken directly from the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous. The discussion at A Dozen Steps will be centered around The 12 Steps of Recovery as suggested by Alcoholics Anonymous (and how they can be related to all other addictions).
I’ve been a happily satisfied “customer” of AA for a bit over 17 years. I believe in the principles of AA because I’m alive and grateful. That belief leads me to do what I can to remain anonymous on A Dozen Steps so that the readers there will feel as comfortable being a part of the discussion as is possible.
From the 11th Tradition of AA (Long Version);
“Our public relations should be guided by the principle of attraction rather than promotion. There is never need to praise ourselves. We feel it better to let our friends recommend us.”
From the last paragraph of my first entry at A Dozen Steps (edited slightly);
“It is my hope that we can come to this venue to pass on what we have learned and engage others to share what they have learned so we might fulfill the primary purpose - to help others find recovery.”
