Hello, I am Marc Audet, which should make sense since you just clicked on my link.

I am married to Marye Audet and have been for twenty-eight years now. That’s a good thing seeing as I am co-writing ”Marriage Actually” here at b5. We have eight great kids ranging from 5 to mid-20’s, and two grandkids. We still have 6 of those 8 living at home. We live in a hundred year old home we are restoring to it’s former glory in Lancaster, Tx. (just about 15 miles south of Dallas). We have a small farm where we raise Nigerian Dwarf Goats, for milk, and a couple dozen chickens for eggs. We are on not ‘nuf acres, and that is one reason we had to give up our horses recently. We are praying that God will bless us and allow us to buy the property next door, if He wants to keep us here in Texas.

I’m a prior- service U.S. Marine. I was trained and served as a linguist/ intelligence analyst. It was at language school that Marye and I met and were married in 1980 at Lovers Point Park, Pacific Grove, California. After abruptly being medically discharged and floundering a couple years I went into the jewelry retail industry for the next 24 ½ years. That came to an end at the beginning of this year. I’m still in retail, but definitely a different venue, home improvement. Because of medical issues, which are still not fully determined, I am only part-timing now. We are dealing with health care at the Veterans Administration as well as continuing to appeal disability ratings and benefits.

Some of the things I enjoy, in addition to being married to Marye are camping, fishing, weapons and making them go BOOM! I have a modest collection of firearms including pistols, shotguns, and rifles.

I am also passionate about Black Powder weapons and am planning to build several reproductions of historic rifles and muskets. Having grown up in the New England area, just minutes from the historic battles of our country’s birth as well as the Plymouth colony, in the 1960’s & 70’s, I gained an interest in the muskets of the American revolution as well as fowlers. My neighbor’s participated in Historic re-enactments contributed to that desire to learn more about muzzle loading and black powder. I’m just now rekindling that desire, some thirty years later.

I’m an active member at our church, with Men’s Ministries, choir and Praise Team. Another ministry I love, working with boys and young men in Royal Rangers. For those who don’t know, “Royal Rangers” is a scouting program with a Bible based curriculum. I’ve worked with my 10 y/o son Sean and am currently working with my 15 &16 y/o sons, Ethan & Matt. Royal Rangers also has FCF Frontiersmen Camping Fellowship, re-enacting, in this part of the country, life in the 1820’s through 1850’s

on the Great Plains prairies. I am planning on joining them later this year and sponsoring my sons into the “Fellowship” as they are preparing to do the same. We enjoy “Hawk & Knife Throwing”, a skill mountain men competed with each other at Rondevous.

There is more I could write, but as it is approaching 2:00 am, I think I will call it a day.

I pray & hope my posts about our Marriage are a blessing to you as well as a helpful insight into our successful relationship over the past 28 years.

Blessings,

Marc
