Hello! I’m Jon and through b5media’s The DC Traveler blog, I will hopefully be your local guide to all things fun in Washington DC.
I’ve lived in the Washington DC area for over ten years and have found it to be a wonderful and exciting place to live and enjoy. From “inside the beltway” politics to its rich history as the country’s Capital City, The District is an amazing place to write about.
I look forward to writing The DC Traveler and hope that it provides insight and resources about visiting and experiencing all that Washington DC has to offer - to not only the first-time tourist but to life-long locals as well.
I was born and spent much of my younger adult life in Chicago where I learned to love the urban experience. I also lived in San Antonio before moving to the Washington DC area.
I work as a marketing consultant with primarily Fortune 500 clients. My professional background includes management and executive marketing positions with communications companies such as AT&T and MCI. I received an MBA from Loyola University in Chicago and a BA in Marketing and Business Management from Kendall College.
When I‘m not working, you might find me in my kitchen as I love gourmet cooking. I also enjoy riding my bicycle on the many scenic trails in the DC area or wandering around one of DC’s many museums. Ask me about my favorite vacation destinations and I’ll probably mention any tropical destination as scuba diving is another passion. I’m also currently working hard on rekindling my photography skills to use on The DC Traveler.
I’m single and have no children, but try to spoil a favorite niece and nephew who live in the wine country of California.
I hope I can provide a bit of reading enjoyment and travel insight for all who visit The DC Traveler.
Cheers!!!!
