OMG, wow.
Welcome Hunter to b5media!
Hunter, i want to be a major leaguer one day…what is 1 tip how to get to the majors the quickest?
Hey Hunter I read in the Houston Chronicle that you like some pretty cool bands, all of which I happen to like as well. If you haven’t listened to them yet, you should really listen to a band called Vendetta Red (particularly “The Body and the Blood” and “Caught You Like a Cold”. This really has nothing to do with sports at all and is really not even a question (LOL). But n e ways e-mail me at lottie31688@hotmail.com and let me know what you think of the band.
Hunter;
We are fans of yours since your days with the Valleycats in Troy (NYPL). We saw you hit two home runs against the Oneonta Tigers in Cooperstown and you signed one of the balls for our son, Ryan Davey. I have a photo of you, I and Ryan outside Doubleday Field in Cooperstown. If I mail you copies c/o Houston Astros, would it be possible for you to sign a copy for us. We offered you the ball, but you insisted my son keep it and you signed it for him.
Congratulations on your outstanding rookie year! It’s such a joy to see you play baseball.
Hello Hunter,
My wife and I are great fans of you and the Astros. Everyone at work talks so much about you, Berkman, and Oswalt. Would you happen to know if you will be having an autograph session anytime soon here in Houston. I believe you guys are out in Florida right now so please let me know.
Thanks,
Dear Hunter,
I am your number one fan…
I’ve sent you three letters.- Thanks for responding to all of them!
I have a sign that reads “#9’s #1 FAN!” which you signed for me one day before a game. I also have a sign that says “Help Us, Hunter!” which you also signed. My favorite sign I have, though, is a black one that has “PENCE…” (in bubble letters) “…9th WONDER OF TEXAS!”
I made it while you were on the D.L. because of your wrist sprain. You laughed and smiled when you saw it, and pointed it out to some of your buddies in the dugout.
I asked you to sign a baseball “To my #1 fan” and you did, which may have been the highlight of my year! :)
If you don’t remember me/ know who I am there is nothing else I can remind you of, except for that you signed my PENCE jersey on Hunter Pence Day (August 8th, 2008.)
Thank you for being such a kind person and returning your fan mail, and for bring a much-needed spark to the Astros’ clubhouse.
Your #1 Fan,
Christine
Hey Hunter I just talked to you on Astroline wed. and asked you what team you were excited to play. I’m your # 1 fan(Really). I made a sign that had a bright pink heart that said I heart ( with #9 on it) Hunter and you saw it and smiled as you were coming in from the field. You are truly a great person and baseball player and I will be cheering for you for whatever you do. as a fellow texas native, I too love it here and hope you stay here. well thanks for helping the Astros, this season looks to be a great one. I hope to see you at the games soon Good Luck, Alicia :D
Dear Hunter,
I am your REAL and TRUE number 1 fan! I am the same Christine that posted on March 13th 2008, just FYI! Thanks for being so great!
Your NUMBER 1 FAN,
Christine
Hunter,
We drove to Dallas to Fla. to see the Astros play in Dodgertown. My little boy waved to you a couple of times and you came over to him, signed his hat and posed for a picture, you truly made his spring break. When you came up to bat, he said I hope he hits a homer and sure enough you did. It goes to show that good things happen to good people. Thanks so much for making my son’s spring break the best ever. You are such an awesome guy! The MLB is lucky to have such a great, classy player! We will be cheering for you all season and will be watching you from the stands at the Rangers/Astros game in Arlington, along with our Frisco Little League team, the Astros! Have a great season, you deserve it!
Lara Van Dyk (Chase’s mom!)
Dear Hunter,
Happy early birthday!!!!!!! Hope your 25th is awesome!!!!! I can’t wait to see you at the ballpark really soon!!!!
Your #1 fan,
Christine
Dear Hunter:
I was fortunate enough to be at the first major league game that you played in here at home. I knew then how great you were going to be. Good luck in the 2008 season! You have so much potential and I can’t wait to see you become an all-star here in Houston!!
If you aren’t crazy busy in the off season I’d love to have you come and visit with my classroom in Katy, Tx… as you did in the Happy Hills pictures. First and foremost though, have a GREAT 2008!!
Lindsey
P.S. Does anyone have his physical mailing address so that I can write to him about the classroom speaking/visitation? Any info is appreciated! Thanks!!
Dear Hunter,
Good job so far this season! My parents won’t take to any Astros games until the weekend… :( Good luck, and Happy 25th! I hope you liked the card I made you!

Hunter, I am the National Service Director for the Wounded Warrior Project. I was told many stories by the warriors that were severely burned about your visit to Brooke Army Medical Center. The warriors had great stories about the visit and your compassion for their sacrifice.
The reason for this is the hope that you can assist me. The burn survivors are unable to attend manyy events due to the sun in Texas. However, if you were able to assist me, I would be happy to drive them from San Antonio to Houston for some games if it were possible to provide them with an area they could sit without being directly in the sun. Anything you could do to assist me with this would be greatly appreciated. My e-mail was attached. Please feel free to contact me. Maybe you could find someone not using a private box. They are sometimes worried about being stared at, due to the severe burns they received.
Hi Hunter!
It’s awesome you created a personal website to reach out to your friends, family & fans! I appreciate your interest and dedication in wanting to get to know your greatest supporters. I wasn’t much into baseball until I saw you play last season. Your the true reason I’m a huge ASTROS fan today! I have an autographed baseball and I would like to know when your next personal appearance will be? Houston is very fortunate to have such a talented athlete like yourself. Good luck and continue the awesome plays!
Your fan, Angie
Hey hunter! I’m am such a fan of yours! I have your autograph on a sweater and NOBODY touches it! I also have an astro star tattoo! I try not 2 miss a game! I hope 2 hear back from you!
Dear Hunter,
We made a new sign tonight! It said “Hunter- Hit Me Another Home Run!” And you did hit another one! I was screaming your name, and the guy behind me started making fun of me. But then, you hit your 2nd home run and the guy said,”I’m not making fun of you ever again!” Thank you for being so awesome! You won the game today!
Your #1 and #2 fans,
Christine (#1) and Celeste (#2)
Hi Hunter! Guess what? I’m posting this at school! Christine is my neighbor, you know. I am your #2 biggest fan! I love you!
How can I go about getting Mr. Pence’s autograph?
Thank you.
Hey Hunter! Great past couple of games. I was born and raised in the Houston area and actually just caught Astros fever.
I’m writing because I need your help and this seems the only way I can HOPE to get it. My now ex and I have been having relationship problems for a few months now. We love each other immensly but things just have been overwhelming. I still love her with all my heart though. She loves you and actually works at Minute Maid in the section your mother and girlfriend sit (won’t mention unless asked to verify). I get stories everytime she works a game. She is the reason I watch the games and hopefully can attend one in the future. Hunter, her name is Tracy and she means the world to me. I do not want to lose her. May sound silly but you are all I got. I bought her an authentic Pence jersey and also a baseball which you signed for some dealer. She has never met you. Can you help me? Thanks in advance for all your help.
How does one get a fanmail addy for Hunter? Thank you all!
Hunter,
Nice RBI single yesterday! Keep up the good work!
By the way, I got #1 fan put on my jersey!

Greetings Hunter,
I enjoy the way you play the game. I’m, curiious. In the late 60’s and early ’70’s I played youth baseball in Houston, Tx (Leauge City to be exact) Are you related to Craig Pence? You have similar attributes.
He was a tall hard throwing right handed pitcher. If not related,
he may be your long lost uncle??? Keep slugging!!!!
Hunter,
The 19th was my 21st birthday and i was very glad that I got to meet you and take a picture with you and an autograph. Then yesterday you did an amazing feat by hitting the first grand slam for the club in 2008. You are my favorite player and thanks for being such a amazing ball player. Hunter, I was a pleasure to meet you last Saturday. My husband was the one that had worked on building Minute Maid Park. You were so kind to autograph the napkin and pose for the picture with our daughter. Sorry we interrupted your meal. Fantastic game last night. Congrats to you for going 5 for 5.

P.S. Celeste is coming with me to the game tomorrow!
Hey Hunter,
So I do believe you have become my favorite player just to let you know. I remember the first article I saw with you on the front page of the chronicle and I was like wow hes gonna be great! So far I’m pretty sure you’re up to that standard. Anyway I was wondering if you remember me. I was at the April 13th game and had a “Hey Hunter Prom” sign. You did sign it after Junction Jack brought it over. Just curious. See ya saturday.
Taylor
PS- you really need to sign my picture frame of you and me. I would appreciate it!!
Hi Hunter Im Marry Halls nephew the one you stayed with before .you are my roll model i want to be just like you
your friend,
Patrick Trujillo-Martinez
Alright Hunter. I do believe we need to have a talk. The team hasn’t been doing well the past few weeks and though the hits keep coming we never seem to score. However I’m quite astonished at how many times you’ve struck out swinging. Your average has sadly dropped, and though you continue to try and put in great effort it seems as though when you’re at the plate you swing at anything just to try to get something. I’m not a pro at baseball knowledge or the best strategic plays but I know when something needs to change. You have been looking frustrated cause I see the anger. I hope however that you let it drop and try to make the next play or at bat worth while. Its not all you though. Pitching has plumetted to a real low. Not to mention the problems we have with Angel Hernandez. I’m not writing to tell how bad its going. Cause you still seem to have the heart. When you do get a hit you run hard and through, you jump to reach the almost impossible and catch it. Not to mention you have almost every girl in the city drooling over you including me. I’m praying for a miracle and I hope it comes soon. This team is the world and the most support I’ve put into something that I watch. I want yall to make it. I would love to discuss this topic or the team more than I can type here. I do wonder how often you check this. But continue to put your right foot foward. E-mail me at whs_gal09@hotmail.com with any info that might change my point of view on the current status of the Astros.
Your true fan,
Taylor
PS- you still havent signed my picture.
Go Astros!
Hunter’s true #1 fan,
Christine

Hey Hunter,
So I am pretty much in love with you. I have season tickets in the club level. You are the greatest! I love coming to the baseball games. I try to make it every night yall are in town. I can always tell who you are because you are the only player who has there pants rolled up at the bottom and have the black sock showing.
Thanks for being a Houston Astro,
Claudia
Hey Hunter,
NIce try on the diving catch today. Almost had it but its okay… cause we still won!! Good luck today!
Your true fan,
Taylor
Hunter,
I noticed that you tend to pull the ball a lot and this is hurting your batting average. I’m sure you get advice from a lot of people but I am surprise that Sean Berry has not recommended to you to try bunting for hits. With your speed you should be able to beat out a lot of hits. By also doing this as you know you will pull in the third baseman. By doing this you will have a better chance of getting more hits through the left side because the third baseman is playing in.
One other suggestion — try hitting to right field more often. Trust me, you will get a lot more hits. PLUS you have the power to hit homeruns to right just as well.
Hey Hunter,
One of my absolute best friends in junior high school (1967) was Craig Pence. You look so much like him, you guys just have to be related somehow. If that’s true, please let me know how I can get in touch with Craig. I’d love to talk to him after all these years. Keep rockin’ on with those Astros, dude.
Jay Thorwaldson
Hey Hunter,
I enjoy watching you play. I know you watch alot of films from games and how everything went. I have studied your swing and you are dragging your back foot and your hitting with just your arms. If you go back to films where you would get two or more hits and hit with alot of power you will see your back foot is planted and you were driving the ball well. When your back foot is dragging in your swing it is making you fall towards the plate and your bat is dropping causing you to pop up or not make good contact, It is just a thought. I hope the rest of the season goes great for you.
Hi Hunter,
you are striding way to early on almost every pitch and that is causing you to step in the bucket. I can’t believe the hitting coach doesn’t have a drill to help you cure that problem. We did in Jr high. Put a bat handle behind you right foot during BP- Good luck the rest of the season———go Astros.
Herb
way to go on the 2 run shot!!
your true fan,
Taylor
hey hunter,
I heard u play World of Warcraft and i was wondering what kind of character you have and what its name is. Maybe i wil see you on there!
Shelby
Hey Hunter,
Way to win the game!! See ya Monday!
Watch out for my sign!
your true fan,
Taylor
Hi Hunter,
I have a six year old that idolizes you. He thinks you are amazing. He copies your batting stance and everything. We have been to every store at Minute Maid Park several times and can’t find a Pence shirt or jersey. He is devastated. Do you have any idea where they sell your jersey’s or shirts for kids? Thanks for all you do for the Astros, and thank you for being a great role model.
Stephanie
Missouri City, TX

Hey Hunter!
You are my favorite player on the Astros. My mom and sister went to the game last night and sat to the left of where you stand in the outfield and they told me that you waved to their section a few times. I just think that is so classy of you and you seem like the nicest guy around. And I was just wondering when you get the chance if you could email me because I have a couple of questions for you :)

Your #1 fan,
Christine
Shelby,
I believe he checks the website, but I don’t think he has the time to e-mail everyone back. If you want to get him a letter, mail it to:
Hunter Pence c/o the Houston Astros
Union Station at Minute Maid Park
501 Crawford Street
Houston, TX 77002.
It may take him a while, but he does respond. To get him to notice your letter, try to decorate the envelope a little. He’s told me he likes getting fan mail.
Hope this helps,
Christine (Hunter’s #1 Fan)

Hunter,
2 years ago I was NOT a baseball fan of any kind. My hubby got me to watching y’all on TV early last season. From that momment I was hooked! Then I noticed a young player…YOU! I have now become an Astro’s fan and a Hunter “FAN”ATIC! My hubby thinks it is very cute that I have a fan crush on you, but last season my 7 year old daughter said…”Mommy, you can’t like Hunter you are already married.” I laughed really hard and told her that it was ok with your daddy because it keeps mommy occupied! I went to the game when they gave away Hunter Pence bobbleheads and made my hubby stand in line 2 housr before the gates opened so I could get one. Then, this is what made it a perfect day… my best friends son gave me your rookie card over the summer, You signed it for me!!! I tell everybody that I have Hunter Pence’s rookie card signed! Thank you for being so awesome on and off the field.
Hunter- thanks sooooooooooo much for taking a picture with me and signing my jersey. I’m so glad you liked the #1 fan on the back :)
Your #1 fan,
Christine

I was just wondering is Hunter really dating the girl named Terri B. ? I have seen some pictures of her and what she does for a living, and honestly he doesn’t take me as the kind of young man that would date a girl like that. Just curious!
Hey Hunter,
Way to go on the hits last night. Keep it going. We got this!!
your true fan,
Taylor
P.S. Robin I know for certain that he has a girlfriend, I know disappointing. But whethers its her I don’t know. But I have seen those photos too. Have to ask him sometime.
Hey Hunter,
i got to meet you at a game earlier this summer. I wanted to take a second and say how refreshing I find someone who plays the game with your attitude. You are always snmiling and having fun doing what you do and I admire that and wish more people in general (not just players) had that same attitude in their daily lives.
Don’t ever change man!

Hunter, I went to Clear Lake HS (south of Houston) in the 70’s and graduated with a girl named Carolyn Pence. She had a younger brother Britt that graduated in 1979. Their Dad worked for Friendswood Development. Are they any relation to you?
