In case you didn’t know (and I’m guessing there’s at least one of you that forgot), today is Father’s Day! b5media is celebrating with a series of posts around the network. But there’s at least one blogger who isn’t sure whether she wants to join in or not.
It’s been a rather moody build up to Fathers’ Day at Babylune: The first phase of new motherhood, the blog for postpartum women. First Kate cancelled Fathers’s Day then she uncancelled it. So are we having Father’s Day today or not?
It would be quite a shame if we cancelled it because Tammy at Jewelry and Beading has found a beautiful and affordable key chain for Dad. But, oh wait! Babylune has cancelled FD again.
That’s ok because holiday or not, dads could always use a cool diaper bag and other gadgets. Maricar at Keeping the Castle will tell you what’s cool for dads and grads.
Hold on. Kate says it’s back on again. This back and forth is just not nice and Kim at Blog Fabulous agrees that it could lead to broken ties.
So Kate’s reconsidered but it’s still a clear maybe not. This makes SP at Weary Parent wonder: Just how weary is dad? Pretty darn weary, if you ask me!
Maybe he should take a break as Leora at Film Gecko suggests, and watch some Father’s Day movies. Or perhaps a book will do nicely as well.
Not that Cory at Baldiness is letting dad off the hook, though, for passing him his baldness genes. But he appreciates it because of all the money he’s saved from being bald.
Some “daddies” don’t have to worry about money especially daddies like Shaq O’Neal. Angelo at NBA Obsessed describes the many fatherly roles Shaq has in the NBA. And man, does Shaq keep busy!
Can you believe Kate still hasn’t decided whether or not to celebrate Father’s Day?! Or maybe it’s just off in Japan.
Regardless, any father would appreciate a personalized Father’s Day card. I’ll show you how at Play Library.
I think I might make a card for Kate too. Those post-partum hormones are taking her for a ride and they might just be placated by a heart-felt sentiment. Hope all the fathers out there will receive lots of those sentiments today!
Update:
A few crafting ideas for those who’re handy - Christine at The Madcropper has Father and Son Scrapbook Pages and a Father’s Day Album to share.
And Mary Emma at Quilting and Patchwork has Soccer Theme Quilts & Pillows for your soccer/football crazy dad. Of course, a necktie is the traditional gift for dads but if none of the ones you’ve given have been put to use, you could always make a necktie memory quilt.
Mary Emma also has some ideas at Alzheimer’s Notes for celebrating Father’s Day and other holidays with your loved ones at the nursing home.
