Happenings in the Business Channel

Well, we just launched six blogs, but there are other happenings in the b5media Business Channel over the last few weeks as well. Here’s some highlights:

The last thing you’re going to be thinking about in a crisis is whether your organization’s information ranks highly with search engines, but it’s something you should work into your crisis communications plan, so your message doesn’t get lost in the sea of coverage about your situation, says Eric at Common Sense PR.

Maricel of Property Crossroads highlights the importance of being financially prepared in real estate investment. With all the buzz about subprime loans and the increase in borrowers facing foreclosure, she came up with 10 questions to ask yourself so you can assess your financial readiness when purchasing a property.

Smiles are simple, but undervalued. Mary Emma, at Home Biz Notes, discusses the importance of greeting your customers with a smile to brighten their day and yours, as well.

Want to hear a story? Most people do, and that’s why kicking off a blog post with one is a great way to capture attention and new business. Brian of Copyblogger tells us how.

On Business and Blogging, in Why “More” Can be Less in a WordPress Feed, Des writes about discovering that using the WordPress “more” feature to display only part of a post on the home or main page means that only partial feed goes to RSS readers. A commenter offers another solution with the little-known Full Text Feed WordPress plugin.

Darlene who also write for Small Business Boomers has a series of 6 posts that help you get that business plan written. Everything from why you should write your business plan to the ingredients you need to successfully write that plan.
