Hello, this here’s Grace Ibay. This is such a kick for me to finally have a place to blog officially and semi-professionally. I got hooked on blogging the instant I tried it in my personal journals. I began happily blogging on the network of coolness (aka b5media) since May 2006 when I took over the Philippine culture blog, Filipina Soul, under the Travel and Culture Channel. I co-author the blog with my sister Maricar, and though we are both US-based, our hearts have longed for and always belonged with the Philippines.
A month later I took on Flu Patrol, which (now) covers influenza and other viral respiratory illnesses, as part of the Science and Health Channel. My latest entry into blogging is this long-time (secret-held) fascination I have with superheroes. YEA! Superhero Profiles was born to blog about these amazing, inspirational fiction characters. As an Entertainment Channel blog, I follow the best TV shows in the small screen - Heroes and Smallville, plus a smathering of hero-centered movies and comics. And it is awesome fun!
On a personal note, I married an angel (for real), we have a beloved daughter and we’re based in Maryland. I work well (at least I think so) at the three jobs I hold - at home, at work and as a church youth leader. I grew up in U.P. Los Banos (Philippines) where I graduated with a M.S. in Genetics (Biochemistry), taught in the university, and conducted rice research all before migrating to the US. I now work as a scientist at Johns Hopkins, where I had finished my (other) M.H.S. in Genetic Epidemiology.
Ok, well, ‘nuf said. Let me go back to my little corner of the blogosphere, and I’ll meet you there. Here’s my email, for starters.
