Geoff is English and lives in Switzerland despite the fact that they banned motor racing there before he was even born.
He grew up in the Jim Clark era and has been attending Grands Prix since Brands Hatch 1966. When funds allow he is an active club racer having raced FF2000 and Formula Renault Sport.
The writer of a weekly F1 column for Cityscreen on Reuters between 1994 and 1998, he was a founder member of Eiger Racing (a Formula Renault team) in 1996, which gave him an insight to life on the pit wall until he decided (Mika Hakkinen style) to take a sabbatical from motor racing and turn to writing. Activities now focus on skiing in winter and golf in summer. Which makes Switzerland a pretty good place to live really. And also means he is ideally placed to write theswitzerlandtraveler.
