Greetings from Indiana – The home of The Indianapolis 500 – The Brickyard 400 – The Indianapolis Colts The 2007 Super Bowl Champs! – The Indiana Pacers and me, Gayla McCord!
In July, 2000 I began working from home and via the Internet and never looked back. It wasn’t until March, 2004 that I stumbled on blogs and became hooked on the concept. At first I found it a form of therapy in the absence of “human contact” from being a work at home mom. Quickly that therapy turned into seven blogs – each one focusing on varied topics I am passionate about. Note: I am self diagnosed ADHD :)
When I read that Jeremy, Darren, Arieanna and Duncan were forming b5media - I knew someway, somehow - I wanted in! Never in a million years did I imagine I would become a Hollywood Gossip Columnist of sorts and now I have the pleasure of tracking celebrities and their love lives on CelebAmour. How fun is that? :)
I’ve found a way to put all those dreadful years of dating to good use and write for Dating Dames as well. I share the chair with Sasha Manuel who is knee deep in the dating scene herself and offers up a brilliant perspective.
UPDATE: I’m now putting my parenting skills to the mega-test by writing for Super Nanny Rules. I’ll be sharing my own views on each episode and how I can/will/do/won’t apply each to my everyday life. I’m hoping to get lots of fun parenting discussions going there. I do tend to be partial to mom’s of multiples - so if you’re a mommy of many, please stop in and say hello!
Most recently I’ve been given the honor of taking over as Channel Editor for the Lifestyles Channel here on b5media. I’m loving it, loving the bloggers and enjoying the challenge.
There’s plenty more up my sleeve and more responsibilities coming down the pike, so keep watch on my varied links below or you might just miss something.

- I really am a Midwest farmer’s daughter
- My mother and stepfather live in Campbell River B.C. after having met and fallen in love online.
- My husband is a U.S. Army Veteran and served in Desert Storm – I’m very proud of him!
- My husband was the first boy I ever kissed and as it turns out, the last boy I’ll ever kiss too! We reunited and married 20 years after being high school sweethearts.
- I have two stepchildren (girl – 15 and boy – 13) I love to bits!
- I have been called a workaholic on more than one occasion
- I don’t like to shop and can’t stand malls – I love the option of shopping online
- In Indiana when a child is born we are given three options – like racing – like basketball or get out. I chose to like both and stay. Go Dale Junior!!
- I collect Barbie’s, Lighthouses and John Deere
- I have three dogs – Rosie an 80 lb. Basset from Guardian Angel Basset Rescue, Maggie a 20 lb. Jack Russell mix and Effie - a 15 lb. Party Mix Cocker Spaniel.
- I never miss episodes of: CSI, Ghost Whisperer, Cold Case or American Idol
- I quit smoking in October 2005 - Yeah me!!!
- I don’t like snow – not even on my postcards. Give me white sandy beaches any time!
- For the first time in my life I’ve WON Something - and it’s all thanks to a Pop Tart missing from a box I purchased.
