Hi, I’m Edie Montgomery. I live in Orange County, California (a.k.a. “The O.C.”). I write the formal fashion blog, JustAFormality.com, here at b5media.
Like most bloggers, I have a bunch of different pages floating around the internet. You can find me on MySpace under myspace.com/ediemontgomery. If you like to read, I have a Readers’ Blog called A Bunch of Wordz. Or if you want, you can sneak a peak at my diary on livejournal.
I also have a full-time day job as a Word Processor. Yes, I type at work all day, then I come home and type. Fortunately, I like to type.
More random facts about me: I love to travel and have fond memories of roaming around the South Pacific with my sis (Tahiti, Australia, Hawaii), staying at a lot of hostels, and seeing a lot of very cool sites (and a lot of ginormous tropical bugs, too). I write poetry. I’m into baking. I love animals (I originally approached b5media about doing a pet blog). My long-term goal is to be a “stay-at-home blogger.”
I have a step-daughter who is about to get married AND join the Peace Corps. I live with my husband the Engineer (they’re not all nerdy, you know — haha) and my calico cat who is precious but, let’s just say, not as nice as some of the other cats I’ve had (we call her “The Evil One” or sometimes just “Evil” for short).
What qualifies me to write a fashion blog? Well, nothing special really, just a personal interest in the subject and the fact that I repeatedly pitched ideas to b5media until they got sick of hearing from me and gave me a job. I also spend 20+ hours a week, every week, researching fashion trends, looking through fashion catalogues, visiting fashion sites, and blogging fashion. So hopefully I know a little something about fashion after all of that.
I write JustAFormality.com the way I’d want to read it if I was the visitor. I point out and am aware of current trends but not a slave to them — pretty is pretty and ugly…well ugly doesn’t make it onto the blog unless I’m making fun of it. I try to make everything attainable for visitors to the site, so if you see something you like, you can click through and get one for yourself. I love to get comments, and I’m always open to suggestions if there’s something you’d like to see.
If you’d like to reach me, I’m at gmail.com, and my account name is b5blogger.
