Parting is never easy. It is especially difficult when you have to say goodbye to someone you care about, someone you are extremely proud of, someone you’d rather not bid farewell to…
That’s why it is with great sadness that I share with you the news that as of the 1st of May 2007, Dr. Hsien Hsien Lei is leaving b5 and handing over the role of Science and Health Channel Editor to someone else. Kerri Aldrich, her co-blogger at PlayLibrary.com, will now be blogging solo. Hsien will also be leaving the very popular GeneticsandHealth.com and AHeartyLife.com. And, while both blogs may be filled in by someone else, they will never be the same.
Just over three years ago, Hsien left a comment on my personal blog when my first child was born. We then began to exchange emails and comments in each other’s blogs. And slowly, I got to know this very talented and passionate person.
That’s why when I started my early venture in to blogging networks with AboutWeblogs.com in April 2005, Hsien was one of the first people that I approached to join me. I knew that she would just be a fabulous part of any project. Thankfully, she went on board with plenty of gusto.
Hsien’s unwavering energy and enthusiasm continued to shine through when AboutWeblogs merged with b5media in October 2005. Hence, she easily became one of b5’s best assets as Channel Editor and Star Blogger.
But now, Hsien’s personal and professional interests are leading her elsewhere. And, while we at b5media are saddened by this move, we wish Hsien all the best. We’re not quite sure yet where she’s going and what she’s going to do, but we know one thing for sure - she will continue to kick ass and dazzle in whatever endeavour that she decides to take on. If you want to keep in touch with her, she will still be blogging on her personal blogs: Cottontimer and EyeOnDNA.
To Hsien: Thank you so much for being a part of b5media. We will always be grateful for all that you’ve done with - and for - us. It has been fantastic working with you. You’re definitely going to be missed.

Thank you so much, Shai and everyone at b5. It has been a once-in-a-lifetime experience working with all of you. I have learned more than I ever could have hoped for in such a short time. Without b5’s support, I would never be where I am now. I will forever be indebted.

Congratulations! I know you’re bound to change the world.
I won’t say good-bye. You’ve been along for my whole blogging ride. I’m not letting go quite so easily. I think we have some chapters left to write and some skype chats too. :)
