Hi everyone, I’m Bridget Wright, and I’m glad to be here!
I started blogging about two years ago, and at the time didn’t realize how badly I would become addicted to it! I love blogging and writing and watching my words take shape and help change people’s lives.
Having and being in business for myself was a dream that I had over ten years ago and I have worked tirelessly to make that dream come true. My motivation? Being my children’s mom. I carved out a niche for myself in church and ministry marketing since my background and childhood is deeply rooted in the church and religious industry. It’s all natural for me to help others, and helping churches market their message was a perfect match for me.
As a professional speaker, I frequently address organizations on the importance of marketing, business development and effective communications. My website at Bridget Wright offers tips and advice for the aspiring and seasoned speaker.
Over at Biz Chicks Rule, the awesomely awesome b5-er Kristen King and I both co-write this fierce blog, bringing you the absolute best on women in business, news developments, home business reviews, career development choices and so much more. We’re both very opinionated and have a TON of fun writing and interacting with the business women community.
My life revolves around my family with my husband of 20 years and three wonderful children. They’re the reason I “why” everyday. I love being a mom and I love the flexibility I have of working from home and being able to make a cozy and homey life for my family. I enjoy cooking (sometimes) and am especially fond of shopping, particularly designer handbags: hence my other b5media blog at Banging Bags. Must…Buy…More…Handbags. I’m in therapy for that right now. Pray for me.
Life for me as a writer and a profesional speaker is very busy, very exciting and very rewarding. I wouldn’t trade it for anything, no matter how tempting it may be. I am living the good life. I’m not a millionaire. My business has challenges too, just like everyone else’s. Some months are tougher than others. I usually average about 5-6 hours of sleep per night. My house is probably one germ away from the Health Department paying us a visit. And, we spend most mornings around my house looking for a sock, a library book or saying “no” to the Wii game 10 minutes before the bus comes. So why do I do it? I’ll give you one:
One day, I was at my son’s school for a kindergarten teacher-parent conference and she showed me his writing journal. On the daily page he said his mom “works from home”, “on the computer” and writes “lots of big words”. Warm and fuzzies here. His last sentence said that “his mommy takes care of him.” Now, why would I trade that?
