Blog Network List

The idea of starting sites largely to watch what’s going on in blogging isn’t a new one, however it was only recently (shortly after b5 launched which, I’m sure, was a coincidence) that there have been sites created just to watch blog networks.

Personally I think this is cool, because it allows me to keep up with competitors without doing all the ground work. Thanks guys!

BlogMedia is a company that, among other things, owns both Blog Network Watch and Blog Network List.

The former is one of the best sources for blog network news. The latter recently relaunched to provide a number of perspectives into the various blog networks. It attemps to answer things like “who is the largest blog network” and “who has the most traffic” and “which blog network is worth the most“.

Sure, some of it’s silly, some of it isn’t accurate and some of it is just plain wrong. But that’s not the point. It’s a fairly level way of looking at all the blog networks in ways that highlight their strengths.

It presents a page for each blog network and even each blog. A fairly comprehensive one at that. Here’s b5media’s page. Apparently we have 72 blogs. Who knew? And apparently we’re worth nearly 3M$.

That’d be one of the bits that I would say is “off” ;-) But as you look through the stats it’s interesting to find some great networks doing great stuff, showing that everyone has room to grow and improve in their niche.

Good job BlogMedia!

In other news, I finished doing 2 interviews this week with Blog Network Watch.

The first is on b5media and ranges from things like the history of b5, to why I feel we’re unique to where we’re going in the next little while. I enjoyed the interview because it helped me put some thoughts into words (even if they weren’t entirely coherent).

The second is on my new book, Blog Marketing (available now at Amazon, heh). It’s a nice little overview of the project, who it’s meant for and so forth.

Thanks for all of the kind words and for taking the time to do the interviews with us - it was a blast and they appear to be pretty popular.

Couple thoughts / notes:

We’re blogmedia.biz - not blogmedia.com - those guys are someone else entirely.

When I put in your blogs to BNL, I included the about weblogs merger in there. If you want to drop me an email with any errors you see, I’ll get the list corrected ;)

We have more to come ;-)

Thanks for pointing out this list.

They were very kind to include us.

Appreciate the info you’ve shared and the example you’ve set.
