Suddenly she’s a blogger!
Anne Wayman, who writes The Golden Pencil blog for freelance writers and is about to launch A Dozen Steps – a blog for 12 Steppers, got into computers back in the Apple II+/CPM/Word Star days simply because she discovered computers could check her very creative spelling.
After tearing her hair for weeks trying to figure it all out, she went to a computer trade show and got a contract writing computer manuals. Later, she was a member of The Well – pre web and graphics, and learned not to put anything on the web she’s not willing to see on the front pages of the NYT.
Her first web job was with Match.com – which she got before she’d seen anything but an [image] tag since she had upgraded to a DOS machine.
In 1998 she joined the then early POD craze and launched a book and a website called Powerfully Recovered! where she still challenges the myths that have grown up in the 12 Step movement.
Anne was an About.com guide back when it was Miningco.com. She first guided San Diego, then Freelance Writers. After years, they parted company and she launched About Freelance Writing and joined Shai and the AboutWebLogs network. Which led to becoming part of b5, a blogging job she actually gets paid for, and… here we are.
After living on boats for years and years, both in Sausalito and San Diego, Anne now lives in a wee granny flat in the North Park area of San Diego. She has a small garden, a tabby cat, three adult kids and three grandkids.
Her resume is at AnneWayman.com.
