Hi, glad to meet ya, Adam Marquart. I live in Omaha, NE. I am married to my best friend and we have two children (a boy and a girl). I am currently an Estimator for a large drywall sub contractor, Murray Drywall. We specialize in the health care industry providing drywall, steel studs, insulation, and eifs exterior finishes. I also make money as a residential home designer. I have been doing it for the past 15 years. I started out my career as a draftsman and designer for the largest (one of) home plan designers. To further my career and understanding of the construction industry I designed for several local area builders. I gave self-employment a try, and still operate as a.marquart design, llc. I have no idea how many of my designs have been built, but I believe it is close or even over a hundred (on average 5-10 homes designed for homeowners and builders per year). Although I am not doing it full time anymore it is still something I am passionate about and that is why I am grateful for the opportunity to blog about it at Offbeathomes.
